There were two Bradley houses at `the hill`. The nickname Hamish comes from that of a man called Tomas Bradley who was a Irish speaker.  When you say son `of Tomas` in Irish, you change it to `Thomais` which then sounds like Hamish. Tomas  had a son called John who succeeded him on the farm.  Then John had two sons called John and Patrick and he divided his farm between the two sons who then built two fine two storey stone houses for their families there. The old house in the photo was John`s house.

John and his wife Annie had six children, Jim, Nancy, Nellie, Susie, Sarah and Mary.
