The last member of this family who lived here was Patrick Duffy. Patrick`s sister, Mary, n was married to Pat Bradley who owned the bar at Coolcalm. Their family now owns this farmstead.
There were two Duffy men living here in the 1830`s, Cornelius and James. Then, 20 years later the sole owner is James Duffy. Then we have a record of Patrick Duffy dying on July 5th 1884. Also we have a record of his wife Bridget who died on July 8th 1912. It seems as though they had three sons, Henry, Peter who died Feb. 6th 1900 and John who married Rose. John died in 1945 and Rose died in 1953. Their son Patrick was the last of the Duffy family to have lived here. He died on March 16th 1982.
By 1911, John Duffy and his wife, Rose, are living here with their son, Patrick and their two daughters Mary and Annie. James Duffy`s wife, Bridget, is still alive and living with the young family in the house. She is 76 years of age. James obviously is dead by this stage. Mary married Pat Bradley who owned the bar at Bradley`s corner, Desertmartin. Annie emigrated to America and lived the rest of her life. there. She never married. Pat remained a bachelor too and was the last of the family to live in this house. It now belongs to the Bradleys of Desertmartin.
