This is the house which John (jun) McNamee built when he got married in the early 1900`s. He ran a small shop there where neighbours could get all the goods they needed. It was a popular meeting place and ceildhi house and John and Mary Anne managed to rear there as well. Suppliers from Draperstown would bring Bread, meats, flour, animal food, coal etc. every so often by horse and cart to keep the shop supplied.
In 1901, John was 35 and Mary Ann was 34. Son John 6, Cathelene 5, Mary Ann 4 and Lizzie 4. (Both Cathelene and Lizzie lived into their 100th year.)
