The first family to have lived here was that of a John Gillespie. John must not have had any sons because one of his daughters, Susan, married Billy (Tole) McKenna, from Boley and they made this house their home. It is still in the McKenna ownership. Their son Tom married Ellen McNamee(Molly) and they had a family. There was Bridget, Joseph, Thomas, Susanna, Francis, Paddy, Peter and Mariah(McSwiggan).
Paddy remained on the family farm and his brother Frank lived with him. When Frank died Paddy married Joan Colton and they had one girl called Helen.
Paddy and Joan moved down to live along the Sixtowns road and this house became vacant. It was later rented to tenants before Helen eventually moved back there.
